Aqualta takes its name from the high water in Venice, when raised walkways are set out through the narrow calli; Monica Armani designed the chair for Lago in 2024. Its outline follows the archetype everyone recognizes as a chair, drawn with simple lines and dressed entirely in one material. The padding is thick and the proportions generous, yet the chair weighs less than it looks.

Inside is an aluminum frame. When the chair is eventually retired, frame, padded body and fabric cover come apart easily, so the materials can be separated. The upholstery is chosen from 15 options, among them Darwin, Francis, Barkley and the faux leather Ecopelle Bloom. The plain shape sits well next to other pared-back furniture.
