The Air bookcase, which Daniele Lago designed in 2006, reverses the usual logic of shelving: the shelves and closed containers carry the visual weight, while the uprights are panels of extra-clear glass. Shelves lock into the glass, so the structure stands on its own and needs no fixing to a wall. Since both faces are finished, it can stand in the middle of a room or run up to the ceiling as a partition.

Size has no fixed limit, from a small unit to a whole wall, and shelves can be lined up or staggered and ordered in different thicknesses. Shelves, tops and bases come in Wildwood or lacquer, container bodies in Rovere Gentle oak or lacquer, and the fronts in 7 options, including mirror, Vetro Metal and several XGlass surfaces.
