Mad Out coffee table
Lava stone is what sets the Mad Out coffee table apart. Studio Marcel Wanders designed it in 2023 for the outdoors, to complete the upholstered Mad out pieces, the sofa and the armchair. The stone is fired at very high temperatures, and the firing gives it one of two shades, nera or roccia.
Each shade can stay plain or take a decoration of fused glass powder, so the top mixes glossy and matte areas. Tops with the glass decoration rest on a spacer in painted stainless steel. The base is painted steel in matte brown nickel, mattone or sabbia; the last two share their names with rope colors of the sofa and armchair.
