Sophie chair

Design: Emmanuel Gallina
Year: 2017
Item no.: DF-C8088

Emmanuel Gallina based Sophie, from 2017, on a classic chair shape and gave it generous, enveloping proportions. The fully upholstered seat and back sit on a light frame of solid wood, and the chair is defined by that contrast between soft volume and slender structure.

It comes with or without arms. The frame is walnut, Spessart oak or black elm. Seat and back are built from multi-density and molded polyurethane with a polyester fiber layer, and the upholstery in fabric or leather is fixed. Gallina later added Sophie Lite, a lighter version with a shaped back and a removable cover.
