Ipanema chair

Design: Jean-Marie Massaud
Year: 2015–2024
Item no.: DF-C7982

Jean-Marie Massaud’s Ipanema chair (2015–2024) brings the line of the Ipanema armchair to the dining table. The frame is solid wood, in Spessart oak or black elm, and the chair comes with or without armrests.

Two versions differ in how the seat and back are finished. One is upholstered over molded flexible polyurethane, in fabric or leather, with more than 40 fabric collections to choose from. The other has no padding: a thin sheet of hide, worked by hand, is stretched over the frame and curves along the backrest, which makes the side profile look lighter. In both cases the cover is fixed, not removable.
