Et Voilà Weightless Kids wardrobe

Et Voilà Weightless Kids is a wall-hung wardrobe for a child's bedroom, designed by Daniele Lago in 2011. Its front is a sheet of fabric pulled tight over the frame instead of a rigid door, so on the wall the piece reads more like a soft panel than a cupboard. Because the structure stays light, it can hang clear of the floor, and the wall brackets are doubled to spread the load. The modules can be laid out to suit the room.

The fabric door slides quietly sideways on concealed runners. The textile also dampens sound, and its weave keeps dust from settling. The fabric is picked from the factory's own range, plain, striped or patterned. In the finish list, the front and side panel are Stratus, the sides are Nobilitato melamine or Laccato lacquer, and the carcass is Nobilitato Pomice.
