Abstraction rug

Abstraction is a hand-knotted rug, 400 by 300 cm, sized for a living room seating group or under a large dining table. Its pattern is loose and layered, like brushwork: soft fields of color overlap with stronger marks, and the tones shift without hard contrasts.

The pile mixes 40% New Zealand wool with 60% viscose, and the viscose is knotted in relief, so the shiny parts stand slightly above the matte wool and catch the light differently as you move around the room. Because the design is irregular, no two areas of the surface look the same.
