Ascot armchair

Ascot is a lounge armchair by Giuseppe Bavuso that borrows from Nordic seating: a smooth, curving wooden frame that looks light yet is built to carry load. The backrest is formed by spindles, and a leather shell is stretched across them and reinforced, so the leather itself works as part of the structure.

A soft leather cushion sits on the seat. Stitching in a contrasting thread outlines the shell, and padded inserts on the armrests give the hands a softer place to rest. Ascot suits a living room or study where a single armchair should stand on its own.
