Giorgia bed

Giorgia is a bed by Ennio Arosio whose headboard is made of two separate panels, each tilting on its own. Set side by side they form a gentle curve. The panels are tapered, curved plywood faced with MDF and cut with horizontal grooves, which gives a slatted look; a galvanized steel mechanism offers five reclining positions, turning on satin nickel brass hinges.

Under the mattress is a storage compartment with a lift base on pistons and a handle, for mattresses 160 or 180 cm wide. The whole bed is finished in matt black oak, gray elm, tobacco or eucalyptus veneer, or in one of 26 matt lacquers, and it stands on pyramid-shaped wooden legs in the same finish. A good fit for someone who reads in bed and wants to lean back against the headboard.
